About PDFCraftTool: The Independent PdfCraft Guide

What we do

PDFCraftTool is an independent website about PdfCraft, the free and open-source PDF editor built by the ArtCraft team. We help you get PdfCraft running and decide whether it can replace a paid PDF subscription. On this site you will find:

• PdfCraft downloads for Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD and the web, always linked to the official GitHub release;
• Installation guides for every platform, including how to verify a download with its SHA-256 checksum;
• Tutorials for everyday tasks: reading, searching, organizing pages, combining and splitting files, forms, passwords and the command line;
• A feature comparison with Adobe Acrobat, covering price, platforms, privacy and what PdfCraft can't do yet;
• Hands-on notes from using PdfCraft on real documents, and a hosted copy of PdfCraft Online so you can try it in your browser.

How we work

We install each new PdfCraft release and update our guides as the software changes. When we describe a feature, it is because we have used it or because the PdfCraft project documents it. Acrobat prices and features come from adobe.com and are dated on the comparison page. We point out PdfCraft's limits as clearly as its strengths, because an honest comparison is more useful than a sales pitch.

Independence

PDFCraftTool is not the official PdfCraft site and has no affiliation with ArtCraft or Adobe Inc. We do not charge for PdfCraft, repackage it or modify it. Every download goes to the official release. For the official project, visit getartcraft.com/apps/pdfcraft or the PdfCraft GitHub repository.
